R. J. Daniel Hanna is a Toronto-born, Arkansas-raised writer, director, and editor living in Los Angeles. Working in narrative, documentary, and commercial forms, Hanna pulls stylistically from all forms of filmmaking, working to bring a sense of realism to scripted footage and, when appropriate, stylistic cutting to documentary films. Movies he has edited have been distributed by Cinedigm and The Documentary Channel, premiered at festivals such as SXSW and Palm Springs, and received awards from The Emmy Foundation, the DGA, The Clios, BAFTA, the USC Editing Faculty, and the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. In 2015, Hanna edited the feature comedy "Jessica Darling's It List" for Mar Vista Entertainment and the feature documentary "Of Dogs and Men," which won a special Audience Award at Austin Film Festival. He is editing the narrative thriller "What Still Remains" through July 2016.
